The Zippo lighter is iconic and is a common item for a person to carry. It became indespensable during WII and was used as a field implement and often as trade goods. The ties to the military continued through WWII into the Viet Nam era. Until the advent of challenge coins trading Zippos was how you made friends or rewarded someone. Adorned with ship crests or unit patches they became keepsakes. In civilian life they were given out by companies, centerpieces of promotional activities, or as personalized gifts. The DESCO Mark V Lighter used to be sold with a raised helmet logo attached to it. Our supplier is no longe availlable so the lighter was changed to having a laser engraved helmet. The engraving is done in house by our sister company DESCO Firearm Solutions, who owns a laser engraver for marking suppressors. In house engraving allows us to offer personalization in the form of a name engraved on the lid above the logo ($25.00 additonal). The Mark V Zippo Lighter is available in satin chrome or brushed Brass. Shiny chrome is no longer available as the laser does not like shiny surfaces.
